All polymorphism databases now have pre-built partitioned interval trees

news.treesAll the current polymorphism databases available through the UCSC portal for the human genomes hg38, hg19, and hg18 now have pre-built partitioned interval trees that are downloaded directly from the ADB site and loaded into the Biophysical Browser. These trees include the polymorphisms from dbSNP and the HapMap projects. Downloading the pre-built trees saves considerable time compared to building the trees on-the-fly on each client workstation. In addition, downloading the dbSNP trees for the large human chromosomes removes the need for 4 gigabytes of RAM that would be needed to actually build each tree.
